Micheal Jackson - The King of Pop

Michael Jackson was born on 29 August 1958 in Indiana, USA. His father, Joseph Walter Jackson was a Music lover. When he was about 5 years old, he started working with his father. His father knew that among his 7 children, Michael is the most intelligent one as he used to create new dance steps and had a beautiful voice too. Jackson family together created a small band of their own and Michael was the one who used to lead every performance. Slowly, the band became popular but in all this Michael Jackson lost his childhood. He entered the professional world at the age of 5 only. His father used to beat him if he would not perform any step properly or refused to do any thing which his father asked to do. 

Joseph Walter shifted to Los Angeles with his children in search of more opportunity as Jackson 5's (band consisting of Jackson brothers) popularity grew. They started performing in different shows and events in Los Angeles. In 1974, he introduced the dance step 'Robot' which gain popularity all over the country.

But Michael Jackson became a worldwide famous personality in the year 1982 when he first did the Moonwalk step in a television show. It took the world by storm. In the very same year, his album 'Thriller' was released which broke all the records. Over 100 million copies were sold and became the best selling album of all time. Now Michael Jackson became a household name. His started performing internationally. He was ruling the Pop world and eventually got the title -  King of Pop. He was making records continuously. His songs were so hit that a separate TV channel had to be launched - MTV, showing only Michael's songs. 

In 1985, Michael Jackson popularized the word 'Plastic Surgery' after people noticed that his skin became more fair and the shape of his nose also changed. Till that time people all over the world were trying to mimic him. Wearing white gloves like him also became a trend at that time. 

In 1993, 13 year old boy Jordan Chandler accused Michael Jackson of child sexual abuse. His father appealed in the Civil Court. Michael wanted to take this matter to Criminal court to prove his innocence but the opposing side denied and the case stayed in the Civil court. In 1994, Jackson settled the lawsuit made against him by paying $23 million.
In 1994, he married Lisa Presley (daughter of Elvis Presley) but they got divorced in 1996. Later he married his nurse Debbie Rowe. He had 3 sons but once again he got divorced in 1999 but his children stayed with him.

In 2003, once again he was accused of child sexual abuse. This time the case went to Criminal court. After proper trial, Michael Jackson was released of  all the charges and was proven not guilty. All the charges against him of child abuse were made because of his social services. He helped a lot of children who were victim of drug abuse, affected by AIDS and used to invite children to his home. Sometimes he used to sleep with them, but he always disagree with the fact that he had any kind of bad thoughts or mindset towards the kids.

After this incident, it is said that he went into depression. He had to take different pain killers because of all the plastic surgeries he had, which also affected his health. He also went into debt and at the time of his death he was having $400-500 million. Majority portion of his wealth went to funding and maintenance of Neverland Ranch. 

In 2009, he decided that he will do his last live concert in London. When the rehearsals were underway, on 25 June 2009, he was unable to breathe properly. He had a separate team of doctors for him. One of them was Conrad Murray who was a cardiologist. He was called but later taken to hospital. It was too late and Michael Jackson passed away at the age of 50.

Initially it was said that he passed away due to cardiac arrest. Two post mortems were done. It was revealed that he was just living on medicines. Not a single grain of food was found in his body. Eight different types of pain killers were found in his body after the post mortem which were very harmful. Some were more harmful than Heroin! Conrad Murray was arrested for involuntary manslaughter. He was imprisoned for four years. 

Michael Jackson was buried in a golden coffin and his funeral was telecasted live on TV. Interestingly his body was given to his family without his brain! The doctors wanted to study his brain to know the effect of painkillers.
