When we talk about dictatorship, the first name that instantly strikes our mind is Adolf Hitler. The person who is blamed to be the reason behind World War II and killing of millions of Jews.
After World War I ended, many countries criticized Germany for starting the war and as a result powerful countries like UK and USSR made of lot of restrictions on Germany, demanded hefty amount of compensation and also took control over some part of their land.

In 1920, Hitler formed his own National Socialist German Workers' Party or popularly called the Nazi party. It was based on Nazi ideology i.e. Germans are the most superior people in this world and they have the right to rule all over the world. After Germany's defeat in World War I, there were some people who were blaming Jews for the defeat. Hitler also made this an issue and started defaming them.Hitler was becoming more powerful and was having support of Italy and Japan. Together these three were called the Axis and other group of countries like Russia, USA, Britain, France formed the Allies.
On 1 September 1939, the Nazis invaded Poland. Germany cited the reason that Polish were planning to invade Germany. Even the Soviet Union (now Russia) joined Germany and invaded Poland. Britain came for rescue for Poland. According to a treaty between Poland and Britain, Britain will help Poland whenever Poland will be in danger. Even France helped Britain in rescuing Poland.

Slowly, Nazi troops captured other countries like Denmark, Norway, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, France, Yugoslavia, and Greece. Even France surrendered to the German Army.
In July 1940, Nazi's German Air Force (Luftwaffe) did a large scale attack on one of the most powerful countries of that time, the Great Britain. Royal Air Force and the Fleet Air Arm of the Royal Navy successfully defended the United Kingdom. This was the first time when Hitler's army lost a battle.
Hitler didn't stopped here. He attacked Soviet Union who was it's ally in the war against Poland. On June 22, 1941 Nazi Germany launched a surprised attack on Soviet Union and the operation was named as 'Operation Barbarossa'. Actually Hitler always wanted to see Germany expand towards east and gain Lebensraum or 'living space' for its people. After the fall of France Hitler ordered plans to be drawn up for an invasion of the Soviet Union. He intended to destroy what he saw as Stalin's 'Jewish Bolshevist' regime and establish Nazi hegemony. Nazi Germany even captured a small part of Western Soviet Union but they were pushed back by Russian Army.
Every country was now in trouble because of rising powers of Hitler. All the allied powers came together and they had only one aim - to defeat Hitler. In 1943, Allied powers invaded Italy. The then British Prime Minister, Winston Churchill referred to Italy as 'soft underbelly of Europe'.
After that, Italy's then dictator and Hitler's very good friend, Benito Mussolini was executed to death in samll village of Giulino di Mezzegra (located in Northern Italy). Japan was also busy fighting with USA and finally on 6 August 1945 and 9 August 1945, USA dropped nuclear bomb on Japanese cities, Hiroshima and Nagasaki respectively. After Mussolini's death, Hitler was not having any kind of international support.
In April 1945, Soviet Army invaded Germany with the intention of capturing Berlin (Germany's capital). Adolf Hitler hid in a bunker - Führerbunker which is 30ft. below the ground with his special army officials and people he used to trust. He used to receive update everyday about the battle going on in Germany. Slowly, the German army were getting weak and Soviet Union were marching towards Berlin rapidly.
Hitler knew that his end was near. In the bunker itself, he proposed his long time friend Eva Braun and she agreed. Hitler sent one of his official to bring a priest to the bunker so that they could marry but the priest forgot to bring the marriage certificate along with him. They took the risk of going out once again and both the official and priest once again went to priest's house to bring the marriage certificate. They were successful in this. After all rituals a small party took place inside the bunker.
After this, Hitler called one of his guards and asked him to burn him after he dies and then bury him. He also asked to burn all the things related to him except a painting which Hitler had already told his driver to take it out of Berlin. He then called one of his commander with cyanide (highly toxic chemical compound). Hitler asked him to check how instantly someone dies by inhaling cyanide and asked to test it on his German Shepherd, Blondi. She was very close to Hitler and he received her as a gift from Martin Bormann in 1941 when she was still a puppy. Blondi died instantly after inhaling cyanide.
Hitler then went to his room with Eva and asked one of his guard, Rochus Misch to stand outside the gate and not to disturb him. Roschus was the same person who wrote the book Hitler's Last Witness: The Memoirs of Hitler's Bodyguard. After some time, he heard the sound of burning fire but he didn't opened the gate as per Hitler's order. The next thing he heard was a gunshot and this made everyone to go inside Hitler's room. As they entered, they saw Hitler dead because of the bullet and Eva lying on sofa. She died because of intake of cyanide. As ordered by Hitler, his body was burnt and other things related to him.
USSR's army then captured the Berlin and entered the bunker. There they arrested all the people present including Roschus. Everyone was questioned about Hitler. To verify if Hitler has died or not they dug up the soil where he was buried. They found some ashes and got a teeth set. USSR then questioned Hitler's dentist, and he confirmed that it was Hitler's teeth because his teeth were distorted and he was also having problems in his gums. Soviet Union considered it as final proof of Hitler's death. All the officials then were imprisoned. After 12 years, Roschus was released and he wrote the book mentioning last moments of Hitler.
According to some theories, Hitler had already escaped from Germany before Soviet Army captured Berlin and he died at the age of 90 in Brazil. This theory did not made any huge impact because there was no solid proof to prove this.
