Dabur - One of the India's most trusted name

Dabur's journey began in the 1880s with a tiny, but visionary effort by Dr. S.K.Burman, a physician working in Bengal. His mission was to provide effective and affordable cure for ordinary people in far-flung villages.

At that time the field of medicine was in a primitive stage and diseases like cholera, malaria and plague were deadly epidemics that could wipe out populations if not checked in time.

With missionary zeal and passion, Dr. Burman undertook the task of preparing natural cures for the killer diseases of those days, like cholera, malaria and plague.

Soon the news of his medicine travelled, and he came to be known as the trusted 'Dakatar' (Doctor) who came up with effective cures. The Da of Dakatar and Bur of Burman are the source of the company's name Dabur.

In 1884, Dr. Burman established Dabur in a small house in Calcutta (now Kolkata) where he started selling natural medicines commercially. Reaching out to a wide mass of people who had no access to proper treatment. Today, Dabur has become India's one of the India's most trustable brand and is still growing after being in existence for than 135 years and has grown from a small medicine producer in Calcutta, to a common and reliable name in household.
